The Tutoring Company in Boston, MA was founded by Nathan and Hope Vigil—a husband and wife team of dedicated educators. Between the two of them, Nathan and Hope have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

Nathan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his master’s degree from Emory University, both in American History. Prior to starting The Tutoring Company in Boston, Nathan worked as a professional editor for a publishing company in California and then as an SAT Instructor for a learning center in Georgia. Nathan has published with Cambridge University Press, spoken at Oxford University, and received scholarships from Princeton University and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Hope graduated summa cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. She earned her master’s degree in Education from California State University, Fullerton, with a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Prior to starting The Tutoring Company in Boston, Hope taught English at the college level.
